I am from Mexico and would like to have more specific information about the GNH conference.
When, where, how many days, who?
This is a wonderful concept that we must support and develop for our planet. Thank you for your efforts.

My apologies Geoff. I'm still trying to get the hang of Wordpress. While migrating the site, I misplaced your comment, and reposted it under the wrong column.

Keep the comments coming. And don't worry, although you will find no shortage of technical incompetence here, there won't be any censorship.

Sulak,

In further reading I saw that indeed my comment was included, it was just somehow moved to a different article. I aplogize for thinking you would have deleted it. I withdraw the previous reply and will be more careful in the future.

After taking the time to visit this website, read the articles, think them over and then bother to make a reply, albeit one that questioned some of Mr. Sivaraska's assertations, I was happy to see that upon return, my reply had been summarily deleted.
Loyalty may demand dissent, but apparently only Khun Sulak approved dissent is welcome.

I have enjoyed your essays. While I don’t agree with everything, (we, Americans, are not all morally-weak, imperialistic half-truth tellers, you know,) you do provide food for thought.

I am intrigued by the idea of Buddhist Democracy but wonder if that is not an impossibilty. The very nature of Buddhism, as I understand it, suggests that it takes a very, very long time to progress up the path towards enlightenment, and therefore most people would not be in a position to abandon their desires. The flip side of that is that the people who are in such a position are in a small minority, so forming a government that favored their, perhaps more enlghtened, but, nevertheless, not widely held worldview, could not be considered democratic. Can this be sorted out?

And, perhaps in theory Islam may seem democratic, but in my observation while living in a Muslim country, in practice, they have no problem whatsoever with elitism or consumerism.
